My wife and I caught plenty of fish using this rod and reel combo but all less than 2 lbs. I really wanted to test this rod against a juvenile giant trevally above 5 lbs but no luck yet. I am very satisfied with this rod reel combo. We have been receiving many compliments from other fishermen of how nice our fishing gears looked and performed.

This is a very nice and portable rod and reel combo. The rod telescopes down to a very short length which will fit in a backpack or suitecase, and has a reel that quickly can be attached or removed making this combo even more portable. The rod has a nice amount of flex and strength and will be fine for most casual fishing needs (I personally will be using this as a road that my nephews can use on my boat; it will easily store in a small compartment and won't take up much room at all).
The reel is a no-name brand but seems very well made and balanced. The casting action is excellent, and again it will make a fine reel for your average recreational fisherman. Note that the line is not included.
In summary, this is a wonderful combo for anyone who needs a portable road and reel (great for camping / backpacking / extra for your boat / travel / etc.). Highly recommended - would make a fantastic gift for most guys!!

I got this fishing rod for my cousin who loves to go fishing. The way it folds is perfect for him to bring with him anywhere he goes since he is a truck driver. He has already use it multiple times and it’s strong and reliable. I think this is a must have for a true fisher man

I fell in love with this fishing rod, the compact design was perfect for backpacking watching my buddy's struggle in the wood while I just walk perfectly with it in my backpack makes a good laugh lol. has a nice cast and I honestly havnt caught any monster's off of it yet (only went out twice so far) but it seems like it should hold very well seems like a strong design with the carbon made rod.

My son, daughter and I had so much fun fishing with this rod. The way it collapses to fit in a backpack is amazing. We went out on South Fork of Bishop Creek and hooked a few trout in a couple of hours. The rod had great flex in the tip, so we immediately knew when a fish struck the bait. This rod/reel combination is perfect for a kid that is ready to move to a spinning reel.

Love the fact that it shrinks down. Line stays untangled. Easy for biking to the fishing hole while dad is fumbeling with his 8 ft pole and backpack etc... Mine fit fight in my backpack no problems!!

This is a great compact and lightweight fishing pole set. It performed well in saltwater using a sabiki rig off a pier. I was able to catch anchovies to bait up on a bigger pole. The kit comes with a lot of basic tackle that can be perfect for trout fishing in stocked lakes or streams. This would be a great starter pole for any child.
